First off, I do have friends who are homosexual. I don’t hate them. I don’t like their life-style even a little, but they are people and God loves them. That being said, how about the legalization of molesting children? Never happen. Well, don’t be too sure. When water drips out of a faucet, it’s annoying and if you let it keep on dripping, it will eventually wear a hole through your sink, or whatever is below the drip. And that’s how the homosexual movement has made such gains in America–one drip at a time. I was alive to see its beginning in the 60s and still alive to see how it’s thriving in the 2000s. I’m not against them being treated as humans since that’s what they are. I’m just more for the concept that “God made them male and female.”
So the latest drip I saw was on the Internet, which is the source of all truth (sarcasm!). There was research done in Italy on the DNA’s role in pedophiles. Yep, they have come up with a drip that says, “A genetic mutation might be the cause of pedophilia, according to an Italian study. If further research confirms the initial results, the sexual attraction of some adults to children might be considered a disease that can be treated.” Oh great, now it’s a treatable disease. What about treating them with a very long term in prison and a tracker collar for the rest of their lives if they get out alive. Perhaps the Italian geniuses that came up with this would like to take a few pedophiles into their homes and treat them there, alongside their children. Bad idea.
How long will it be before sanity returns to mankind? I know what the Bible says, “9 The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent (2 Peter 3:9).” And I’m glad to hear that. He loves the pedophile and wants him to repent. He loves the homosexual and wants him to repent. He loves me and you and wants us to repent. One day, though, He will say, “Enough–let’s go get our Church and bring it home.” Or something like that. That’s what I’m looking forward to. That’s what gives me hope. That’s what makes getting up every morning to pray so fulfilling and even fun!
So it’s a new year. Let’s all make a commitment (resolution) to follow the LORD Jesus and be about the Father’s business as He was. We were at my nephew’s funeral last Sunday (Jan 6th) and he was only 42. You think you have got your whole life ahead of you, but all you really and truly have is right now (it’s gone already). Let’s live for “right now,” remember the Lord in all we do, think and say, and bring as many people with us into His Kingdom as we can find. The way is straight and narrow so be careful. There’s a lot of crazy stuff out there that would love to distract you. It’s not about who’s president, it’s all about who is your LORD.
